Canadian Immigration : Skilled Worker Class


Overview:


Federal skilled workers program allows professionally skilled and experienced people from all over the world to apply to immigrate to Canada. Citizenship and Immigration Canada has established a criteria, according to which a candidate must have at least 67 points besides fulfilling certain other conditions including medical and criminal clearances. The points are awarded for age, education, work experience, study or work experience in Canada, language ability in English and French, spousal qualifications etc.

Skilled workers are individuals who are literate in some skill or vocation and have the work experience to back it up. Skilled worker applications are very detailed and require meticulous document gathering. Visa posts can investigate your employer or business information and interview you about the information that you have provided in the forms. The main criteria under the skilled worker program are as follows:

•  educational qualifications
•  work experience
•  age
•  family ties in Canada
•  proficiency in English or French
•  study/ work experience in Canada
•  arranged employment in Canada
•  availability of funds for settlement upon arrival in Canada
