Canadian Immigration : Provincial Nomination

Overview:

Most provinces in Canada have an agreement with the Government of Canada that allows them to play a more direct role in selecting immigrants who wish to settle in that province. The provinces accept the applications directly and consider your application based on their immigration needs and your genuine intention to settle there. The employers in the province need to apply to nominate an employee from outside of Canada to work in the particular job that has a skill shortage in Canada. every province has its own skill shortages.

After you have been nominated by a province, a separate application is made to Citizenship and Immigration Canada (CIC) for permanent residence.
